A Short Review on Bio-compatible/Bio-degradable| Photopolymers for Stereolithography Bio-3D Printing - Juniper publishers

Image
Journal of Trends in Technical and Scientific Research Abstract One of the important procedures in Bio-3D printing is to print/fabricate the scaffold for tissue engineering. A scaffold is a porous biomedical implant, which provides a short-term support to seeded cells in order to direct the formation of new tissues. The scaffold must be non-toxic, biodegradable, biomechanical properties, specific chemical composition and have a precisely defined pore size and geometry. For this reason, it is very important to fabricate scaffolds with high precision. In this review, 3D printing of biomedical scaffolds using photo polymerization process is briefly reviewed. As per requirements of tissue engineering, the choice of best 3d printing method and photopolymer were discussed. Apart from this bio-3D printing application, the bio-compatible photopolymer will be widely used in dental application, like the direct printing of aligner in orthodontics and temporary denture fa...

Treatment of Diabetic Foot Ulcers - Juniper Publishers

Image
Journal of Trends in Technical and Scientific Research Keywords Keywords: Stigmatization; Social isolation; Medication; Surgical procedures; Amputation; Prosthesis; Rehabilitation Abbreviations: DFU: Diabetic Foot Ulcer; IWGDF: International Working Group of the Diabetic Foot; LLA: Lower Limb Amputation Opinion Diabetic wound is the most common cause of non-traumatic lower extremity amputation, and response to traditional interventions is poor in many patients. The lifetime risk of developing an ulcer among diabetics is 25%, and recurrent wounds are common after healing. Stigmatization, social isolation, unemployment, and depression are some of the negative consequence of Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) on the quality of life of diabetics. DFU adds a substantial economic burden to afflicted patients and health systems, primarily attributable to frequent hospitalization, medication, surgical procedures, amputation, ...

Learning Factory: is it a Panacea for all Difficulties in Engineering Education? - Juniper Publishers

Image
Journal of Trends in Technical and Scientific Research Abstract This mini review addresses the question 'how deep subject knowledge and critical thinking skills can be built in engineering graduates so that they will be work-ready at graduation?'. In the developed nations, Learning Factory is increasingly accepted as the means to instil this skill set. The morphology of the Learning Factory permits sufficient flexibility to accommodate different requirements and future developments. The paper argues that the developing nations however have to acquire this technology for progress and to be efficient they have to build the science and technology base at the same time. It concludes that Learning Laboratory can be a panacea for developed nations but it can only be a panacea for developing nations that simultaneously build and reinforce their science and technology bases. A Short Review on "Water Management in Onion"- Juniper Publishers

Image
Journal of Trends in Technical and Scientific Research Abstract Being a shallow-rooted crop, onion extracts most of the water from the top 30cm of soil and is more sensitive to water stress during bulb formation and enlargement than during the vegetative stage. Lack of irrigation results in a shorter duration of bulb growth, a lower percentage radiation interception and a lower efficiency of conversion of radiation to dry matter and all these contribute to lowered bulb yield. Keywords: Onion; Water management; Water stress; Bulb growth Introduction The cultivated onion (Allium cepa L.) is an important crop with world production of about 84.76million metric tonnes for the year 2013-2014 [ 1 ]. Water is the main limiting factor for low bulb yield in onion. The crop requires 350-500mm of water over the growing season [ 2 ]; hence, adequate moisture through irrigation is important in the production of onions. Being a shallow-rooted crop, onion is more sen...

Antibacterial Efficacy of Metallic Nanoparticles using Plant Biomass - Juniper Publishers

Image
Journal of Trends in Technical and Scientific Research Abstract The emergence of nanotechnology in recent years has made a revolutionary impact in every aspect of the science, engineering and technology. Green synthesis of the metal nanoparticles using plant biomass is an emerging area of the research worldwide. These nanoparticles were investigated for their antibacterial efficacy and found to be the potential candidates to treat the resistant superbugs. Reviewed literature reveals that particle size plays an important role in the lysis of the bacterial cell wall. In the present review, we have focussed on the synthesis of metallic nanoparticles by using green route and evaluation of the antibacterial efficacy against various pathogenic bacterial strains Keywords: Green synthesis; Metal Nanoparticles; Antibacterial efficacy Abbreviations: SPR: Surface Plasmon Resonance; SERS: Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering Intro...

Biofield Energy Healing Based Vitamin D3: An Improved Overall Bone Health Activity in MG-63 Cell Line- Juniper publishers

Image
Journal of Trends in Technical and Scientific Research Abstract The potential of The Trivedi Effect ® -Consciousness Energy Healing vitamin D3 and DMEM medium was investigated in human bone osteosarcoma cells (MG-63). The Test Items (TI) i.e. vitamin D 3 and DMEM were separated into two parts. Bone health parameters were tested such as Alkaline Phosphatase enzyme (ALP) activity, collagen levels and bone mineralization. The Test Items (TI) i.e. vitamin D3 and DMEM medium were divided into two parts. The test samples received Consciousness Energy Healing Treatment by Karen Byrnes Allen and samples were defined as the Biofield Energy Treated (BT) samples, while the other parts of each sample were denoted as the Untreated test items (UT). Cell viability using MTT assay exhibited increased cell viability more than 71% with safe and nontoxic profile among test samples on MG-63 cell line. The level of ALP was significantly increased by116.4% at 50μmL in the UT-DME...
